Lochter Fishery consists of 3 Fly Fishing Lochs over some 14 acres of water and two Bait Fishing Ponds. One of our lochs is the unique Muckle Troot Loch which is in the shape of a big leaping trout!
We are open from 8am to dusk all year round, 7 days a week and there is no necessity to book as there is always ample space.
Situated 12 miles to the south of Aberdeen on the A92, Logie Trout Fishery was established in 1988.
Set in lovely surroundings on the edge of Limpet Wood, the natural vegetation and plant life on both pools provides the fish with quality feeding, and with an abundance of insect life the evening rise at the fishery can be quite spectacular.
The excellent pure water is fed to the fishery from natural springs and a stream flowing from the moor some 2 miles away. Up to a million gallons of fresh naturally filtered water flows into the pools in any one day which helps give Logie it’s reputation for providing fit and healthy, hard fighting trout for the angler.
Situated in peaceful surroundings in a rural Aberdeenshire, you can fly fish amongst beautiful Scottish scenery and wildlife.
Fly fishing is available over 3 lochs for high quality rainbow trout and brown trout. Also available is a stretch of the Mossat burn for wild Scottish brown trout.
We can provide tackle hire and offer fly fishing tuition and instruction with our low cost fishing lessons.
Facilities include a cosy wooden fisherman's cabin and clean and modern toilet facilities to make your visit to Mossat Trout Fishery even more comfortable.
Mossat Trout Fishery was established in 1994 and has being managed by Steve Parkinson and family since 2001. Since that time the fishery has gained a reputation with local fly fishers and visiting tourists for successful and tranquil fly fishing in rural Aberdeenshire.
There is 4 lochs at the fishery, three that are fly only and a bait pond for children or beginners.
Raemoir is a beautifully natural looking fishery that was sympathetically constructed to blend in with the adjacent countryside and to respect the wildlife. The lochs have a prolific natural food source to keep the fish in excellent fighting condition. There are large populations of sticklebacks, corixa, shrimp, chrimonids (buzzers) and damsels in all lochs. We have excellent surface hatches, which makes Raemoir a notable fishery for floating line tactics.
The fishery is well stocked throughout the year maintaining an excellent density of trout at all times.
Rainbow Trout are the main species stocked with the average size between 2 - 3lb, but with many bigger specimen fish up to 14lb. Brown trout and blue rainbow trout are also found in the fly ponds..
Anglers bothy, wood burning stove, cooker, toilet, available snacks and drinks, picnic tables, use of BBQ and fishing tackle to hire.
